Investing in your success

The Microfinance Scheme was introduced in April 2012 to offer personal loans to serving members. Loans are offered at 25 percent per annum, with a minimum of 1,000 Kwacha, a maximum of 200,000 Kwacha, and a repayment period of 60 months, which is five years.

All confirmed contributing members.

How to apply online

Applications are now made online through the Pensions and Microfinance member portal. You no longer need to visit a Fund office to lodge a Micro-Finance application.

  1. Sign in to the member portal, or register if you are using it for the first time.
  2. Open the Micro-Finance menu and complete the loan application.
  3. Upload the documents listed below.
  4. Submit your application and follow its progress in the portal.

Documents to upload

Documents required
  1. Introductory letter from your Ministry or Department on official green Government headed paper, indicating your residential address, employee and National Registration Card numbers, job title and duty station.
  2. Two latest authenticated original payslips and two certified copies.
  3. Certified copy of your National Registration Card and identification.
  4. Certified copy of confirmation in service, attestation letter or enlistment.
  5. Bank statement, stamped and signed on all pages, for the three latest months.
  6. Marriage certificate or affidavit for women whose names changed on marriage.
  7. Loan statements for any loans to be paid off.
