The Integrity Committee
An Integrity Committee is an internal institutional committee meant to institutionalise the prevention of corruption, for the purpose of enhancing integrity and transparency.
About the committee
When was it formed
The Fund's Integrity Committee was formed in 2006, as one of eight institutions taken on board on a trial basis to fight corruption. The others were the Ministry of Lands, Zambia Police, Ndola City Council, Lusaka City Council, the Zambia Revenue Authority, the Immigration Department and the Anti Corruption Commission. Selection was based on the findings of the National Governance baseline survey report.
Main objective
To spearhead and facilitate the prevention of corruption in best practices, in liaison with departments and units within the Fund.
Members and composition
Members are appointed from senior and middle management by the Chief Executive Officer on behalf of the Secretary to the Cabinet. The committee has seven members: the Chairperson, three Secretaries and three other members.
Role of committee members
To prevent corruption within the institution, to enhance integrity through reform measures, to develop and internalise the Code of Ethics, and to receive, consider and redress complaints on ethical issues and hindrances to service delivery.
Role of the Chief Executive Officer
To appoint committee members, the focal point person and the secretariat on behalf of the Secretary to the Cabinet, to ensure the Anti Corruption Prevention Action Plan is submitted by 30 December preceding the implementation year, to monitor its implementation, and to ensure quarterly reports are submitted on time.
