PSPF DONATES ULTRA-MODERN SCANNER TO PSMD TO ENHANCE DIGITAL PENSION FILE PROCESSING
The
Public Service Pensions Fund (PSPF) on October 15th,
2024 donated
an ultra-modern scanner to the Public Service Management Division (PSMD),
enabling the digital submission of pension files for faster processing of
benefits for retired public service employees.
PSMD is
the latest institution to receive this equipment after the Ministry of
Education and the Zambia Police Service.
During
the handover ceremony at the PSMD Offices in Lusaka, PSPF Director of Pension
Administration, Ms. Sampa Barbara Kangwa, representing Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Francis Pindani Nyirenda, stated that the donation aligns with the
Presidential directive for pension benefits to be paid within three months of retirement,
as well as broader government efforts to digitize public sector processes.
Ms.
Kangwa emphasized that PSPF is integrating its systems with key stakeholders to
facilitate seamless information exchange.
She said that the Fund is already receiving
digital pension files from the Zambia National Service (ZNS), the Zambia Air
Force (ZAF), and the Ministry of Health eliminating delays in pension
processing caused by manual processes.
And
PSMD Acting Permanent Secretary Ms. Loice Mulube expressed her gratitude to
PSPF for the donation, acknowledging that the equipment will significantly
reduce delays in submitting pension files to the Fund.
The
Permanent Secretary added that this support will enhance the management of
pension files between PSMD and PSPF, ultimately benefiting pensioners.
